![]() Renee believing she's the hottest woman alive is where a lot of the humour comes from, but also some of the missteps - since Renee and her two friends, Jane (Phillips) and Vivian (Bryant), are not actually ugly. There's also a nice twist on the tried-and-tested body-switch plot - Renee (Schumer) hits her head and believes she has achieved her dream of becoming beautiful. ![]() Just feels like she is trying to make the narrative fit too wide of an audience instead of just writing it.'I Feel Pretty' is a mostly-straightforward romantic comedy from the writers of 'Never Been Kissed', 'He's Just Not That Into You' and 'How To Be Single', so it's safe to assume you know pretty much what to expect. Not really funny, although that's not the intent. Her stand up is great, her book not so much. I enjoy Amy's stand up as well, just feels like she's overreaching with this book. And I love stand up comedy and comedians who write books, josh wolf, bert kriescher, greg fits Simmons, enjoyed all their books. Just found myself going "why and I even reading/listening to this?". ![]() No, didn't make it even half way through. Most of the time you find yourself going "WTF?". Very dry, no emotion, couldn't tell if the jokes were suppose to be jokes or if they were even suppose to be funny. How did the narrator detract from the book? You can't have it both ways, either you are or you aren't One chapter she talks about how she is this closed in shy person, then another she talks about how many people she slept with, then says she isn't promiscuous, then in the next chapter talks about why she enjoys using the nuva ring. Whole book feels like a PR person edited it, doesn't feel real or even that its her own words. But she contradicts herself by bragging about how charitable she is, when true charity is what you do when no one is looking. Wasn't funny, though I didn't expect it to be. What was most disappointing about Amy Schumer’s story? ![]() No, no emotion in the reading, contradicts herself from one chapter to the next Would you try another book from Amy Schumer and/or Amy Schumer?
